3DR were pleased to be involved in the extensive refurbishment of the science centre exhibition rooms and discovery gift shop at Birr Castle Demesne, Co. Offaly, Ireland. Designed by Studio SP and CMC Associates, the fit-out was completed in July 2014.

The Castle Demesne and the huge ‘Leviathan’ telescope are set in stunning formal gardens. The refreshed visitor centre documents the many stories behind the site’s rich heritage of scientific excellence.

The supply framework here involved the successful collaboration between Birr Scientific and Heritage Foundation (Client Team), CMC Associates (Principle Design Team), Studio SP (Interpretive Design Team), Mackinnon Slater (Graphics Production) and 3DR as fit-­‐out contractors for the display structures, new object cases, interactives and furnishings.
